International Private Music Academy

Students may choose from the following options in their majors in the arts:

  • Music Education
  • Composition, music theory and auditory development
  • Chamber music

  • Correpetition

Artistic training is an essential element. Additional to this training there is an enhancement by other subjects such as studying some supplement instrument. Other opportunities such as orchestra, ensemble, and chamber music lessons are also part of the training.

Regular masterclasses with renowned artists and lecturers supplement the tuition in this discipline.

Subject Instruments

Students become acquainted with works from a wide variety of epochs and styles.

We take students’ personal preferences for a particular style into account without ignoring the particularities of other eras (musical, pop, jazz, and EMP).

Reinforcing the results from masterclasses and workshops are added to the artistic presentation.

Subject Singing

In the Subject of vocal training, we offer students professional and broadly diversified education in the artistic-voiced and Vocal pedagogy areas.

During the study, individual vocal competence develops not only in terms of vocal technique but also artistically and in stylistic terms in a contemporary manner.

With a selection of scene-based projects and performances, students expand comprehensively for their future musical activities.

Subject Music Education

Music pedagogical training adds another element to the degree program.

Students learn and try these things out in lectures, seminars, and many practical projects in the context of theory and practice.

By teaching practice-related music pedagogical skills, students are offered a course of study adapted to the requirements of the job market.

Subject Composition, Music Theory and Aural Training

In addition to the instruments and voice major, students may also elect to major in composition or music theory/aural training.

Most of the knowledge in the Subject of composition is taught primarily with the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In this respect, the focus and content of the study are composition instruction, instrumentation, aural analysis, audio technology, and preparation for a future teaching activity.

Subject Chamber Music

Music pedagogical training adds another element to the degree program.

Students learn and try these things out in lectures, seminars, and many practical projects in the context of theory and practice.

By teaching practice-related music pedagogical skills, students are offered a course of study adapted to the requirements of the job market.

Subject Conducting

The Conducting course focuses on providing students with the knowledge and methods and enables students to independently self-rehearse and head various ensembles.

The later scope of duties covers the entire range of music conducting.

Students will gain extensive skills in conducting (rehearsal work, auditions, etc.) and organizing. Furthermore, they will have the mindset to think critically about their task (e.g., readings, source evaluation).

Subject Correpetition

In the Correpetition field of study, musical-interpretational abilities and technical skills are comprehensively developed and perfected. These are necessary for the musicians for the Correpetition.

In addition, students acquire the understanding to express themselves independently through their interpretations by performing musical works from various styles.
